LongJing tea culture tour HangZhou
Join us for the day as our tea culture expert guides you through one of China’s most scenic cities-Hangzhou. Marco Polo described it’s sweeping views in his classic proverb: Above there is heaven, but below there is Hangzhou. Your path to tea enlightenment begins with a high speed train ride for about an hour, with an opportunity to view the ZheJiang landscape. Arrive at the gorgeous National Tea museum, to learn of the various types of teas and their production methods. Next, we’ll travel the winding roads of Hangzhou by private car to the quaint YangMeiLing Tea Village where the Ying family will welcome you as honored guests. We’ll hike the tea terraces where you’ll be introduced to Long jing’s famous history and legends as well as learn the ancient skill of harvesting tea leaves. Following our visit to the tea terraces, the Ying family will prepare a generous lunch of seasonal cuisine and host a tea tasting. Indulge in this green tea characterized by its green color, delicate aroma, mellow taste and beautiful shape. Finally, take a stroll along West Lake’s scenic shores as our guide shares its ancient history and intriguing stories, such as the Legend of White Snake.
Additional tour options are available and we’ll gladly customize a tour to best suit your tastes or desired experiences. Whether you’re a novice tea drinker or a tea enthusiast, you’re guaranteed to enjoy our well-planned and personalized journey.
NOTE: Tea harvest season is approximately March 15th – April 15th. During this time frame you’ll witness the elaborate picking and making processes of Longjing tea. Otherwise, we’ll arrange for you to pick and roast your own tea in the traditional method.
